Primary 3 is a wonderful year where children begin to grow in independence and confidence. They build on the foundations from Primary 1 and 2 while also being introduced to new and exciting challenges.
Children in Primary 3 continue to develop their literacy and numeracy skills, with lots of opportunities to practise reading, writing, problem-solving and mental maths. Learning is active and engaging, and we encourage children to develop a love of books, words and numbers.
Through The World Around Us, children explore topics that spark curiosity and encourage them to ask questions about the world they live in. Alongside this, pupils enjoy expressing themselves through art, music and drama, as well as developing new skills and confidence through PE and outdoor play.
Primary 3 is also a very important year for developing personal and social skills. Children learn about working with others, showing kindness and respect, and taking greater responsibility for themselves and their learning.
Above all, our aim in Primary 3 is to create a happy, supportive and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and motivated to do their best. We want children to end the year with a real sense of achievement and excitement for the learning stillto come.
