Choir at Peace Proms!
On Sunday 24th February, our pupils were part of a much larger choir than usual - 4000 voices in fact. Watch and listen to us singing and dancing medleys from Matilda, The Greatest Showman and a few classic boogie numbers too. A big thank you to all the parents who facilitated their children participating in this brilliant opportunity to perform in the SSE arena!
Here are some of the dance moves, in the videos below, that will need to be learned ahead of next week's Peace Proms concert! Get busy, kids!
Choir of the Year
This week the school choir participated in the regional heats of BBC Radio NI School Choir of the Year. What an opportunity for our young singing voices! This will be broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster in a couple of weeks so we'll let you know soon exactly when you can hear us across the airwaves.
Choir-a-Caroling
Recently the P6s and P7s from the school choir have been out and about singing carols at nursing homes and Carrickfergus Library. Our audience on Tuesday was treated to a brass duet of "We wish you a merry Christmas" as well.
Ulster Orchestra Visit
All of KS2 headed to the Waterfront Hall on Tuesday morning to the Ulster Orchestra 'Telling Stories' concert. The packed out concert hall of KS2 pupils from various primary schools were treated to a variety of classical pieces from 'Mars' from Holst's Planet Suite to the crowd-pleasing Harry Potter theme tune. Our thanks go to the Ulster Orchestra and Waterfront Hall for providing this unique musical experience for our pupils.
Peace Proms 2018
On Sunday 25th February, the school choir joined almost 4,000 other children from across the province in the largest Peace Proms concert yet at the SSE arena.
We all enjoyed singing, showing off our dance moves and listening to soloists across a range of musical styles. A big thank you to our parents in supporting our latest musical adventure.
